Teksal Safety provided a valve operation solution for a global mining company’s operations in Western Australia to reduce manual effort and injury risk.
As the teams operate various size wheel valves with a high number of revolutions and in various positions from knee height to above shoulder height, they needed a solution that would minimise repetitive manual effort.
The solution: Sofis Power Wrench.
Teksal Safety’s team installed drive plates on key wheel valves to enable the pneumatically driven power wrench to be used to turn the wheel valves.
While it may seem like a simple solution, it:
- Reduced the physical effort required to operate the valves
- Made the job easier for a diverse workforce with varying physical strength
- Minimised the risk of injury to due to repetitive work
