About the conference
Promoting health and safety in the Queensland mining industry, the QMIHSC provides opportunities to exchange information, network and foster proactive health and safety management techniques.
This year’s conference theme, Back to the future, will address these questions:
- Have technology and futuristic methods simplified our industry for the positive, or introduced new risk?
- Will the removal of human interaction dilute our skill in safety and health risk identification?
- Is the industry too complex or exactly where it needs to be on the transformation curve?
- Is there a place for the simpler processes of the past to co-exist with new technology and ways of work?
- Continuing from last year’s conference theme “Inside looking out”, have we looked outside for learnings when designing and implementing technology and change programs, to ensure we are not repeating mistakes of the past whilst transitioning to the future?
The program will reflect industry’s changing health, wellbeing and safety landscape, cover current and future matters, and feature a diverse range of critical topics in mining health and safety.
