Enhancing safety and increasing longevity with Dropsafe barrier for Pilbara iron ore process plant
Project
An iron ore process plant in The Pilbara, Western Australia, needed a robust safety barrier solution to protect its workers and operations at its car dumper facility.
Challenges
The client had trialled various other types of barrier systems, with limited success.
Solution
The mining company engaged Teksal Safety to source, supply a barrier solution at its car dumper facility.
In partnership with leading dropped object prevention manufacturer, Dropsafe, Teksal Safety supplied a Dropsafe barrier solution.
It was installed along the access platforms and stairways leading to the car dumper facility to minimise risk to workers and improve overall safety during operation.
The Dropsafe Barrier solution was chosen as it is easy to install and not only minimises risk to people and operations, but withstands the harsh conditions of the Australian climate.
Its robustness and durability also benefits the mine operator by reducing maintenance costs and increasing its longevity.

Testimonial
We were looking for a robust safety barrier solution for our iron ore plant / car dumper facility to protect our workers and maintain safe operations. We tried a few options. Teksal Safety sourced and supplied a Dropsafe Barrier, which we installed along access platforms and stairways. It was easy to install and is robust enough to withstand the harsh conditions of the Pilbara. Teksal Safety’s team provided an ideal solution for our project and we look forward to working with them again.
